Following the narrow stretch of tar
That meanders on and on
For miles upon miles in serpentine coils,
And towering hills standing guard on either side
Amidst a string of aged houses with rusted roofs
Bending in awe at the feet of ancient hills,
While the trees with their metallic strength
sink their roots into rocks,
swaying their bushy hairs
To the whispers of distant drums,
We got into the warm embrace of the ancient Idanre hills
Which sprang up from the horizon to give ANA a standing ovation
On that saturday we pay homage to the land of sunshine.
