Okay… so, if you are in Makurdi, Benue state, NIGERIA 🙂 you might want to head to Purple Silver tomorrow evening for a reading with Andrew Aondosoo Labe, poet and short story writer.
Aondosoo is an award winning writer who has written, maybe a million poems, and short stories to make you smile… Well, some are not themed to make you smile, but I guess you get the idea 🙂 I can’t say when I first met Aondosoo but I remember reading a poem of his, written for Okigbo. It was a poem of great depth that had me wondering: Who on earth is this guy?! As time progressed, I chanced upon him on the pages of a magazine I worked and wrote for, called Conflate (edited by Hembafan Aboiyar). We met and I have continued to drink from the fountain of this brother’s deep leanings which might befuddle a few people… Hee hee hee! Oh well, if it is anything to compensate, in addition to his many deep writings, he also has entertaining pieces to. Mmmmhmmm
Purple Silver is curated by Anselm Ngutsav, and has different hosts from time to time. It is a fun place to hang out on Saturday evenings. So, the time is 5-7pm and the venue, VIP Lounge, Pages Park and Garden (opposite Togo’s Supermarket)… Only last week, Purple Silver hosted Pever X, the author of Cat Eyes, who is also the Publicity Secretary of the Association of Nigerian Authors (Benue State Chapter). It was fun over there and I can assure you tomorrow will be fun too… Make out time if you are in town and if you are not, please wish us all luck!
Take care and God bless us all!
