  1. Su’eddie, thank you for this lovely tribute. I too am soothed by Hyginus Ekwuazi’s words : may the sands lie softly on him. I’d love to think that, more than other people, writers live eternally and simply travel back and forth through time, in the characters and stories they weave. Abubakar Gimba, fare thee well, rest in joy and dance to the sacred drums of the spirits….

    1. Thank you Juliet! True your words… When our words echo our values and speak through touching hearts more than some humans strutting around…can anyone dare say such a person is dead? Nope! We live beyond our bodies and flow in our words…

You are soooo on point! 🙂
He will rest well, I pray.

  2. Hmm…the little children in my head are drumming hard, my eyes sagging, to believe this post.
I am just a student of English/literary edu, who read lots of his books, and added him in my wish list, those my eyes will meet their eyes, those my hands will shake theirs, now I see different thing.
Could this be a shattered dream? or what?
“death!!! how could you be so heartless???, why not go and torment the big bellied frog eyed citizens?”
I wish I have a sword, I would have slaughtered you, death. Anyway, what have I to say again??? your body is now mixed with the soil, do I say “may the soil produce good agricultural product, and let the agricultural product in the belly of man, produce another Abubarkar Gimba”
