THE LAUGHTER AT THE STREAM (A Poem) by Ezenwa-Ohaeto

In our persecuted enthusiasms
Our hopes like tireless travellers
Search for sources of water,

But in the parade of images
We sing with you with our insides:
We invoke with you the fisherman.

In our inside
We dread the silence of constrained lips
the morning of vacant stares
the night of many dreams
dreams that are never tamed…
