Yes, very much so. You CAN publish your story if they don’t accept it.
PS: It is not a contest! Just a call for Manuscripts 😉 Meaning they might be looking at a whole lot and accepting same. Best of luck.

Sorry, I didn’t get back to you earlier. Now, I am not totally certain but African Writers’ Series seems to have published more fiction than non-fiction. In this wise, I think that fiction might serve better. Thanks.

greetings from the other side. I have a collection of poems I have titled LAMENTATIONS. Am looking for a publisher, and hopefully I get paid for it. Lamentations is collection of poems on Niger Delta environmental angst, addressing the issue of injustice in the oil rich region of Nigeria.

Hello Nwanyanwu, how are you?
Usually, for matters relating to publishing, we accept emails at sevhage@gmail.com.
I can tell you now though…that we are currently not receiving traditional scripts for poetry at the moment. Neither is the African Writers’ Series, as far as I can say, at this point in time.
If, however, you are interested in independent publishing, do send us an email at sevhage@gmail.com.
Have an amazing day.
