SHAFT – a poem

It away, this daft

-Ness. It is the result

We always get to receive – an insult

At the time when we get it wrong

Moving it well or not, even when we are wrung

Times would grow

And other things would simply, show

He discovered it

Images and all knit

In variant themes shown

Made known

Through it all

Leaving the most important call

The true gift of everyman’s trove

Let the show dissolve

The heart brought out to show

The reflection of the soul

Not for any beauty but devotion pure

…Fear comes too

Kick it out – let it be the food of the loo

Embracing the greatest gift

Getting its lift

Screw the words

With all, swords

Feel it to the bone

While letting it be known:

Love rules

Above life’s trophies and bulls

Let him/her be the greatest, an ever woo

Declaring subtly, “Babe-y, I love you.”
